These gaming headsets will allow students to take charge of their learning and participate the best way possible. During special accommodation times, students will be able to participate in group work remotely with their service teachers while remaining in the same room with the general ed. class. Currently, my students are using earbuds that do not have microphones and are not meant for remote learning. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students whose parents are able to provide them with a gaming headset at home during distance learning. They almost always make good choices about leaving their video on during zoom time, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting in front of the devices without a headset on.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them the confidence to participate in class discussions. The microphones will allow students to interact with the teacher and peers. These will be extremely beneficial for some students who don't normally volunteer during class. These headsets will give students options to participate as often as possible! The high quality of these headsets will endure the hands of 9 and 10 years old much longer than the school-provided earbuds. They are lightweight and can be easily used by many students.
I have seen how a piece of equipment can positively affect my student's work and demeanor and hope that the much-needed headsets will help us transition into hybrid learning easier!
