The multiple changes in the music program over the last four years has denied many students the opportunity to experiment and work with more instrumental sounds in band. Not only that, but the music department inventory is small in my school, generally made up of donated instruments along with some budgeted instrument purchases (we have almost no keyboard percussion, and few school-owned wind instruments). I would like to allow my students the musical opportunities in band that most other schools offer. The students deserve the chance to work with different instruments. Consequently, it is my goal to make band a satisfying experience through a more full band and the ability to perform more unique and original repertoire that call for oboe.
