I have described my students as wildly creative. Regular, black and white print often sets a glaze over some of my students' eyes when it comes time to read and write. These books serve as study guides, texts, and modeled creative note-taking to supplement other texts and activities that we use in our classroom. My students are very artistic, and they love to see things in color, and express themselves in more than just writing. These notebooks would serve as a model for creative note-taking by modeling for students how to use different colors, doodles, pictures, and unique organization to effectively capture information and store it in their brains for later application. These are not text books. The students will still use primary sources, articles, and pieces of text from other secondary resources. They will still be required to keep their own notes in an interactive notebook. This book will simply supplement their learning, model creative note-taking, and serve as a comprehensive check to see if students have all the information they need to "Ace American History."
