One of the key standards in 4th grade science deals with rocks, minerals, soils and fossils. One key feature of that standard is soil infiltration. Infiltration is the rate at which water can move through a soil. I have always shown videos and had discussions about this topic but my project on donorschoose.org would bring infiltration to the students desk. I really believe that they would use these science materials to better understand Utah's geography and geology. In this kit we have a range of soil types and the tools that will help us conduct experiments. Students will get to make predictions and see infiltration happening in front of them.
