Students must be engaged! In order for my students to be engaged, they must move. Students can better engage in learning when their brains are actively stimulated. The materials that I need will stimulate my students' brains and help them to focus better while learning. The elastic bands will be used on the bottom of students chairs. This will help them move as they learn without distracting themselves or their classmates. I have witnessed the success of using the elastic bands first hand. One of my students already has an elastic band on their chair, and it has increased his ability to focus, his ability to participate in class discussion, and his overall achievement in the classroom. The yoga balls will be used for those students who learn better as they wiggle around. Let's face it, those plastic chairs that students sit in just aren't comfy! Yoga balls will allow students to continue to move as they learn.
