This year teach math to two different first grade classes so these kindles will be used by 48 students a day! My students have learned how to use technology to build their mathematical understanding and reasoning skills. Right now we have limited technology in the classroom. With these devices I will be able to spread out the technology so a whole group will be able to use them to build their skills at once. In reading, these devices will allow students to explore many different apps to develop their phonological awareness and having the devices will expose them to multiple sources to read books from. Kindles in the classroom allow my first-graders to become comfortable with technology and prepares them for the future world. I want to be sure my students are exposed to different types of technology that allows them to be creative thinkers.
