My name is Kelly Maxey. I have been teaching for 27 years, and the most important thing you need to know about me is that I LOVE MY JOB! I guess you could say that I have been around! I have taught all grades from kindergarten through 8th grade in Minnesota, Texas, California, and Spain! I am a gadget-geek. I love anything TECHIE!!! I have always been interested in STEAM education, but it wasn't until a couple years ago that I knew it had a name....or at least an acronym. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art, and math....all of my favorite subjects. As a middle school teacher, I try everyday to bring lessons and activities to my students that will help prepare them to be the drivers (not just passengers) of the future!
