The school day begins as early as 7:15 am. However, the Girls Achieving Their Potential G.A.P. group meets after school for an hour and 30 minutes. I am soliciting support to help provide a healthy snack option to our students during a 15 minute time frame of homework help at our monthly meetings. As we interactively dive into the topics of peer pressure, women in leadership, exercise wellness, community outreach, manners and etiquette, colleges and careers, and health and hygiene, a snack would help our girls to be more focused, offer meaningful feedback, and share their thoughts and experiences. It is quite difficult to focus when a need for hunger has not been met. We will meet 8 times this school year. It helps to know that a snack will always be available to help boost them as they work towards fulfilling their potential!
