Technology has permanently altered the learning environment. The children of today often find information on devices rather than books. They also use computers, tablets, and smart phones to do most of their communication. Long observed rules and creativity in the traditional writing process are all but lost. The only way to preserve writing is to provide a similar technological experience to students in the classroom that they experience when they are away. No matter how a child engages in the pursuit of knowledge, it is incumbent on the teacher to try to meet those needs. Therefore, teachers must bring technology into the classroom and provide ample opportunities for writing practice. The rising generation is so fortunate to have modern technology but it will only be of lasting educational value if we can train the children how to use these devices in a way that preserves the style and ideals of traditional written communication.
