The best way to introduce any skill is with concrete, hands-on activities that build basic concepts. That is why I am building a STEAM makerspace that will be available to our entire student body. STEAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Coding, for example, is a valuable skill that students can explore in a makerspace. But before moving to more abstract coding challenges, students need the opportunity to build coding concepts hands-on. Botley Coding Robots are a great tool students can use to build those basic coding concepts and skills in an active, hands-on, cooperative and just plain fun environment. Help me put the T (Technology) and E (Engineering) in our STEAM makerspace!
