I want to inspire students to not be afraid to step up and take control of their futures! I teach grades 7-12 Family and Consumer Sciences. We cover topics ranging from Money Management, Parenting and Child Development to Nutrition and Job Skills. We are from an area that has a very high poverty rate so the skills they learn could be very vital to their futures. I teach them skills to help them survive on their own, whether they are starting a family of their own or going to college and living on their own for the first time. Many students do not complete college due to financial hardships. I try to teach them ways to manage their limited resources so they may complete their education.
