This year I have implemented an entirely new teaching strategy in my classroom. I teach entirely in small groups, where students are with me in groups of no more than 6 students at a time. This allows my students to get more differentiation and more time with me than whole group teaching. Teaching in this type of setting requires a lot of different types of classroom management and planning. The students know what is required of them when they are away from my table, they also know they are responsible for their own learning. Your donation of Chromebooks will aid my students in so many ways through small group teaching. I am most excited about they way they will use them in their book clubs. Each small group is in a book study which is completely student led. The Chromebooks will provide the small groups with a digital notebook. This notebook will allow students to discuss and respond to what they are reading much faster than writing in a journal. This will also allow me to check on them while I'm with another small group. I will be able to see what they are typing and discussing without being in the group with them. This is just a small portion of how I will be using the Chromebooks. The possibilities are endless with Google classroom!
