Since one-third of my students are facing challenges within the classroom, they are greatly in need of a visual aid to assist with engagement and focus. Many of my student's IEPs require that they have some sort of visual aid in the classroom--unfortunately, large poster paper and anchor charts are simply not enough. A projector in our room would dramatically improve learning and ensure student success. Having a projector would enable me to break up lengthier reading passages by showing the students real-life connections through YouTube videos and the like. Students would have a large permanent display of anything important being discussed presently in the lesson. A projector would also make it much easier to model how to "mark the text" while the students are working in their Close Readers. The best part, though, is that I would never have to hear the words "Where's the Do Now posted?" again.
