Computers are a necessary component to our daily lives. Students use the internet today more than ever and need the skills to navigate safely. The internet can be a dangerous place if they are not taught appropriate skills to navigate. I am preparing students for careers that do not yet exist as technology is becoming more advanced and a necessary element in the job market. I need to teach my students not only how to be safe on the internet but to understand how to use the appropriate resources. As technology is becoming a dominate component of our daily lives, students need to practice and apply what is being taught to them in the classroom. Students will use the laptops on a daily basis to complete on-line tasks that I assign. These activities will incorporate research strategies and Microsoft applications such as word, excel and powerpoint. Students will be guided through an appropriate implementation of research strategies and step by step instruction on completing presentations.
