We teach them all to promote learning for all. My school is in a high poverty area. We have very diverse students, needs, and exceptionalities. We have met standards on standardized achievement tests. How--You might ask. Well, because we love the kids, we work for the kids, and we do not give up. I speak in the plural because like they say, "It takes a village to raise a child". Well, it takes a great school with a great staff to accomplish great things. As our superintendent said at our back to school meeting, "We build bridges, not walls. We teach them ALL." I teach third grade. I teach reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, social skills, sharing, and character education.
