My students need classroom sets (80 books total) of "The Other Wes Moore" by Wes Moore to be able to read challenging, rigorous, and engaging texts in order to answer our unit questions. We would like to read a book that has local connections with our school and our community. "The Other Wes Moore", by Wes Moore allows my students to see how hardships can be overcome and goals can be achieved. "The Other Wes Moore" is a rigorous text that is relavent to my students. Not only do I want them to be able to read and write about the text as strong English students, but to enjoy reading and to have a connection to the text. Through this text, I believe we can reach all of these goals and enjoy our unit text!
