Having individual bins with leveled readers for students will give them an opportunity to explore reading as well as build their confidence by having new books at their different levels that they can successfully read and comprehend. In previous experiences, I have observed first hand the power that a book can have when I student feels confident in being able to read it. When a child feels successful in reading, it gives them the confidence to challenge themselves and want to learn and achieve more academically. By having their own book bin with texts, my students will learn to love books and reading and hopefully that love will continue to grow throughout their lives.
