My middle school works hard to make sure that all of our students feel like they belong, no matter what their interests are. Not all students are interested in playing a sport, and some students cannot stay after school due to transportation issues. My club is primarily boys who love to read. We are participating in The Battle of the Books and need books. Each Friday the students receive a new book to read and when they return the next week, we discuss the book. We read a variety of genres, so there is something for everyone. My club gives these students the opportunity to join a club with students who have similar interests as them in addition to fostering their love of reading.
