Growing up in the Bronx, in the highest poverty communities, all my students have come to the understanding that they may not be given access to the same resources and tools as others. The students in my class enjoy using technology and it is their prime way of interaction. When my students use borrowed technology they are completely involved and motivated. They are on their best behavior and feel in control of their decisions. Many of my students have many different types of personalities, that there are not one alike. These students are one of a kind and deserve the best education possible! The fact that they are showing up to class even though they are not given the same advantages as others to me it means the world. In other words receiving this laptop will be a way for me to pay it forward and see them shine.
