Through this project, students will be able to work with science manipulatives to better understand the ways that the 5th-grade science standards connect and help us in everyday life. Science experiments give students the chance to have fun and learn at the same time! Having these materials in the classroom will allow students to explore science in ways that are exciting and interactive! Magnets and electricity are one of the bigger parts of our science core. The items chosen for this project would give students the chance to have one on one interactions with electricity and magnets, and to see how closely they are related to each other as well as exploring their individual qualities. Also, our district does not offer science textbooks in elementary school and with these books on matter students will be able to have grade-level, appropriate reading that teaches them about Matter, as well as increasing their reading abilities. Our class loves working with each other, we are all best friends; helping us get these materials in our classroom give us chances to work together to experience science hands-on while integrating other fields of learning like reading
