This project will allow me to send home a reading bag with my students. Each bag will include a practice reader, a phonics game, and a library book. This will give the child the resources needed to practice the skill of reading with his/her family. Practice readers promote sight word knowledge and fluency practice. File folder games will improve phonics skills. Trade books will increase comprehension skills and a general knowledge of our world Practice makes perfect....but a child needs to have the resources to practice! By reading more....my students will have the opportunity to improve reading skills, to enrich their vocabulary and to learn about the world.
