These Legos will strengthen the library as an all-encompassing center for learning and creativity in the school. Library time is already valuable to students. I want to enhance their experiences by allowing them to create stories that we can make into short stop-motion films. Legos are expensive and not something that all the children have access to in their home lives, and I want to show them the joy that these building tools can bring. The students can become not just consumers of stories, but also authors as they design new worlds. Each year our upper grades work with simple and motorized mechanisms, and I included wheels and axles so that students can design vehicles using the Legos.
