Third graders have mostly mastered the skill of reading and are now branching out and reading for pure enjoyment. These books and supplies will help them to continue to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. My students are excited to be reading! They especially love non-fiction and tales of adventure like Swiss Family Robinson. They will then write their own tales of adventure in the composition books, which hold up to daily writing and sharing. Our classroom library is quickly filling with student made books and stories. Science related nonfiction books and biographies are also very popular choices. All the new books, the colored paper, their own hole punch, and the giant post-it notes they can use for projects will greatly enhance my students learning adventures!
