Who wants to learn in the same hard chair or in the same spot on a scratchy carpet all day long? Most of us prefer to work in a comfy spot. We get more work done and it's easier to focus when we get to choose where we work, right? Young students feel the same way. That is why flexible seating options are so important in an elementary classroom. Flexible seating gives my second-grade students a voice in their learning. They are motivated to get their work done to their fullest potential when they are allowed to choose a spot in the room such as a bean bag chair, an exercise ball, or quiet spot on the floor. The wobble chairs that I have selected will give my students one more choice in my classroom. They are extremely beneficial to the many students that suffer from attention deficit and hyperactivity disorders, as they allow for movement while they are working at a desk, table, or on a clipboard. I hope that the addition of these awesome wobble chairs will help my students to learn and grow to the height of their capabilities this year. Help us get the wiggles out!
