In 2016 technology is an essential aspect of all student learning but it is especially needed in a special education classroom. Students that receive learning support are in need of individualized instruction and assessments. They each learn and grow in their own way. In order for students to be able to track their own progress and goals they must use specialized programs that cater to their learning needs. Without the proper technology it is difficult for my students to reinforce the instruction that I give them on a daily basis. I use as many different types of materials as possible to make my instruction relevant and engaging. With technology in my classroom I will be able to take my instruction to a new level. Chromebooks are the perfect type of technology for elementary aged students. They are easy to use and navigate independently. My students crave the feeling of independence and autonomy. Technology gives them the opportunity to show what they are capable of doing on their own educational level. Chromebooks would be an amazing asset to my classroom and my students' success.
