My students have a variety of disabilities, learning styles and ability levels, I hope that the requested items will help the staff and myself effectively teach each child according to their needs. I want all my students to be able to learn the same core skills, but individualize each lesson for each student. The requested materials will also help to teach calming strategies and behavioral techniques. This will allow them to have less time having transitional behaviors, for example, and more time learning in group or individual sessions. Lastly, the items like art materials and visual aides will help the students be able to learn in a fun way that they respond to. By incorporating their interests into the lesson, my hope is that it will keep their attention and allow them to retain the learned information.
