Our school encourages good character and celebrates students who make good decisions or demonstrate leadership in the classroom. Teachers and staff hand out "Character Cash" to "catch" students showing one or more of the six character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, citizenship, fairness, and caring. Students turn in their character cash for prizes and other incentives, both in the classroom as well as the main office. Our goal is to recognize students who go above and beyond by sending them to the office…for a good reason! Building this community of celebrating success alleviates the negative stigma of the office and principals while recognizing those who are exhibiting important character traits for a life outside of our school walls.
