I believe students have a voice and need to heard. This novel set tells a story of a high school freshman that has encountered some challenging events the summer before her ninth grade year. Through the novel, she finds her voice to speak up for herself and address the issues that have been eating away at her. Everyone has a voice, but sometimes they need help finding it. This novel addresses some challenging issues that students need to openly discuss and create solutions. Through young adult literature, students will improve their reading skills while reading material that is relevant to them!
