I am requesting headsets and books for opportunities for my students to improve their reading comprehension and fluency. Every week I hold reading tutoring after school. Following COVID-19, I found many students were lagging behind in reading comprehension. Audiobooks and graphic novels are ways to inspire reluctant readers and ELL students. I have several bookshelves in my classroom, but desperately need more graphic novels and high interest books for students during reading time. Headphones and high interest books are ways to motivate and reward students who struggle with reading. Reading improvements, in turn, help students in every aspect of their education. We will use the headphones to listen to podcasts, interviews, and audio books. The high interest books will be used with my tutoring students and will benefit all readers in my classroom.
