Choices in flexible seating are conducive to both individual, quiet study as well as more collaborative, discussion-based group work. Flexible seating allows students to find their a place to do their best work. Flexible seating stimulates sensory input and allows better focus and productivity. In addition to sensory input, flexible seating enhances comfort and allows for movement without being distracting to peers. Choices in flexible seating also provides opportunities for voice and choice in the students' days. Flexible seating moves away from traditional rows of desks and chairs, which does not contribute to group discussion and collaboration. Flexible seating encourages students to work together.
