I believe that children, especially the restless, high-energy kind, like my 6yr old students, shouldn't have to sit all day in a hard uncomfortable chairs. Six year olds are constantly on the move all day long. They do not remain in their chair, and this causes disruptions and behavior issues throughout the school day. By replacing the classroom chairs with stability balls, both sides of their brains are engaged in keeping their bodies centered on the balls. And when the brain is stimulated, it's more focused on learning, and does not allow room for causing disruption to their peers. By replacing classroom chairs with stability balls,it will increase the focus and contribute to positive behavior. My students will be more comfortable therefore more engaged in their daily learning. I will no longer have to remind each student to not tip their chair and to remain seated during my daily lessons.
