Many of my students come from families with limited literacy experiences. Having a variety forms of reading in the classroom can help me install the love of reading in my students. Students will listen to these books every day during literacy centers. They will have the opportunity to hear their favorite texts repeatedly. Students will also learn directionality of print by following along as the narrator reads. Furthermore, the students will recognize fluent reading through listening to the narrator. Additionally, the students will realize how words come to live in a very expressive way. Audiobooks are a fun way to teach reading to younger students.
