With the tablets that I am requesting, I will reinforce both the student's auditory and visual modalities simultaneously. The students will find books of interest and, through Learning Ally, I will put the book on tape/tablet. The student will be able to visually follow along as the text is read to them. They can stop/pause and discuss what was read. It has been found that student comprehension and fluency improves with this method. The students become more confident and "like reading". These kids "get hooked" and actually finish reading a book...something they've never done before! Reading is important in everyday life. All of my resource students are 1-4 years below grade level in reading. Shouldn't they have a chance to improve their skills and become better readers? With your help, I can help them, and we'll see their confidence soar!
