During personalized learning time, one of the choice assignments includes novel/project. Since students are at different lexile levels, I would like to provide students with a vast amount of novels to choose from within their lexile level. Students currently struggle to locate a book within their level. Not all students are able to go to the library, and others do not even have a library card! Having a leveled classroom library will provide students with the flexibility to choose a novel of interest at their level to read and then complete a project of their choice while sitting wherever they're most comfortable! Students have different learning styles, so as an educator I take that into consideration when students choose where they sit. I allow them to move around the classroom and work where they're most comfortable. Not all students enjoy sitting at a desk. I have many students who prefer sitting on the floor, still others that like a table. Some would rather stand. Having a carpet and a couple of beanbags in the classroom would provide additional seating options for students. It would also brighten up the classroom and make it feel more like home. I strongly believe that it’s my responsibility to prepare them for their future and provide the materials they need to be successful! I would like to thank you in advance for your consideration!
