I am requesting a variety of supplies that will allow my speech and language team to develop adapted materials for my students to access at their level. The laminating pouches, velcro, and cardstock are supplies we use every day in creating learning materials, pictures symbols for communicating, and visual supports. My district and department do not allot us any budget, so anything we make and have made comes out of our pocket. With the addition of many new classrooms for children on the Autism Spectrum Disorder to our building this year, the demand has been even higher for materials and supports. We would love to be able to support our classrooms as much as possible and these supplies would enable us to do so. For many of our students, they are just learning to communicate and we hope to be able to provide them with a variety of things to communicate for! The materials, such as the pull tubes and playdoh, are objects we use as reinforcers to encourage and teach communication with our students. The more the student enjoys the activity, the more they will want to communicate for it. We thank you in advance for your support of our wonderful students.
