I want to provide my students with a classroom rug that gives them each the personal space they require to be the best learners that they can be. The rug will also help increase the students' participation in learning by allowing all students their own space during whole group lessons. My students will become a community of learners. Through the addition of the rug, there will be a designated place for us to gather. Our time spent at the rug will help to create a community within our classroom. Beyond whole group learning, the rug will also be used for individual and small group work. These experiences that will occur with the addition of the classroom rug, will aid in the development of necessary skills such as participation, cooperation, and teamwork.
