Research has shown that time with text is one of the number one indicators of student achievement. Because of this, students need multiple, high-interest books to build their stamina, sustain their attention, and apply reading strategies and skills learned in the classroom. My students created a list of books of their top picks they would like to read and would like to share with their classmates. By providing student choice, students also have ownership of the classroom library. Through high interest texts, students will undoubtedly develop a love for reading that will translate into creating a classroom full of lifelong learners. Please help us fill our book nook!!
