Welcome to my page! I'm a teacher in a high poverty middle school in a high poverty district. I have the very last woodworking program in the entire district. At one time every middle school and every high school had woodworking, metal working and autoshop. No more. I'm the last of the bunch. I'm just starting out and our program needs so much! One thing about working with wood, you need tools. And tools eventually wear out and break and need to be replaced. And if you don't buy good quality tools, you can't get replacement parts or fix them. That's our problem. We've been in existence over 50 years, and our district gives us limited budget. I want to bring our woodshop program into the modern era, while retaining the hand eye coordination and dexterity development that is so important. And some of my students come to me not knowing how to measure! And not having any idea of basic safety.
