My students are diverse in many ways. They have many different learning styles as well as different physical and emotional needs. I have students come to school to learn and those who come to school just to feel safe and secure. They all want to feel accepted and important. They all want to succeed and are all curious to learn new things. I have had to find many ways of teaching to meet the needs of my diverse classroom. Being six and seven years old, they are in the developmental age where they need to get their hands on learning. They need to move, manipulate, see, experience and make mistakes to learn. They need differentiated ways of learning and I need differentiated ways to assess in order to gather data and find the needs of all of my students.
