I teach a classroom full of exuberant, eager to learn third graders in a high-poverty rural area of South Carolina. My students love to read, even though many of them struggle at grade level and others are far above expectations. Because of this, I would like to encourage those who struggle and engage those who need a challenge by updating my library area with new Children's Choice Award Books. Since we have independent reading time every day, I need a variety of books to satisfy the students' interests and levels.
