My students are an amazing and unique group of intelligent individuals that love to learn. As an inclusive classroom many of my students have special academic, social or behavioral needs that shape their learning experiences. All of my students need high stimulation and multi-sensory learning activities to help make meaningful connections. Each of the requested resources will be used in multi-sensory learning centers to provide engaging and stimulating learning opportunities for all students in my class. For example, the Legos will be used to create a vertical building wall to stimulate spatial intelligence, creativity and oral communication skills. Sensory sand resources, blocks and play dough will be used to promote creativity, cause and effect, practice of writing skills, and reinforcement of grade level skills through tactile and kinesthetic engagement. Multi-Sensory learning activities engage two or more senses to help increase concentration, alertness, engage creativity, develop social and communication skills while building learning connections. Multi-Sensory learning centers will provide a variety of opportunities for my students to build motor skills, academic foundations, and background knowledge to be successful life long learners. These resources will be used individually by students and in group settings to promote curiosity in learning.
