The few students that have digital devices do not know how to use them for educational purposes. The many that do not have digital devices do not know how they can augment their education with technology. The Fire tablets will allow them to connect to cloud-based resources our district is developing. The apps like schoology and google drive require the students to connect to more digital devices than they can provide. Additional paper and ink will allow them to create items such as posters and notes that transcend the black and white world of traditional classrooms. All students see from teachers are the black and white copies that we can make for them. Empowering students to create educational projects that can be displayed on walls motivates them to do more and learn more. By allowing them access to colored paper and the ability to print in color (I personally already purchased a printer), we can bring the art from the computer screen to the classroom wall.
