I am requesting eight cases of paper. Copy paper may seem like a supply a school district may provide, or a supply that teachers have no problem purchasing on their own. Normally I do purchase many classroom supplies for my classroom and students. Or I ask students to donate one ream of paper. This year I am expecting to teach 375+ students and because our curriculum is void of supplemental material I will be forced to photocopy much of that on my own. Between classroom handouts, exit slips, notes to parents, class activities and of course homework, a classroom can never have enough paper! I am hoping that by having copy paper donated, my students will have homework more frequently so writing skills are reinforced. My students often conference with peers and their feedback forms are attached to the writing. Having this donation will allow peer conferencing to run more effectively. Although the SmartBoard is used often, some students need their own copies of the handouts to refer to throughout the year.
Donations to this project will allow my lessons to run more effectively (no more sharing handouts across the classes).
Students will be able to refer back to sample writing pieces and class handouts throughout the school year. Some lessons require students study the writing and not spend the entire class period copying notes. Having copy paper donated would make my classes run much more smoothly!
