As my students are beginning to grow, the addition of Chromebooks to our classroom will only aide in the continuous advancement of my children's educational horizons. Chromebooks provide my students access to technology that is currently inaccessible to them in a major way. Their world has become increasingly tech heavy, and will only become more so during their lifetime. The socio-economic status of these students, in many cases, bars their interaction with such advancement. Giving the children access to learn and explore, through directed activity, will only strengthen the skill sets they will leave my classroom with. Whether it be learning to correctly revise and edit their writing in a document, or researching a subject through credible sources, the activities we can complete as a class will enrich more than their English Language Arts education.
