My students have very limited access to technology at school. If we receive funding for our requested laptops, my students will be blogging about their reading books. They will also use the laptops to access newsela, read theory, and other reading sites. This will help them access more reading materials and build comprehension skills. My students deserve the best education I can possibly give them. My class is a special education reading class. My students have these disabilities: CI, EI, ASD, ADHD, and HI. Many of my students struggle with sensory issues. Many can't sit still no matter how hard they try. I do not expect them to sit and be quiet in my class, when I know this is not how they learn. I need the necessary resources to support my students energy levels while still facilitating learning. These items include fidgets, bouncy bands, and a standing desk. Fidgets help keep their hands busy, bouncy bands are for sensory stimulation, and a standing desk is for my students who learn better by standing.
