This is my first year year with my own classroom, so I do not have many materials for my students. Hands-on activities will engage my students and enable them to learn math and phonics skills. These materials will provide them with concrete examples, variety, multiple exposures, and tools they can use on their own. While working in a small group setting, they can use these materials to practice the specific skills needed to fill in the gaps in their education and catch them up to grade-level expectations. My students will be able to use the phonics and sight word games to help them identify sounds, read, and spell words. With the math activities, they will learn necessary skills including: counting, adding, subtracting, comparing, and many more.
