Students enjoy having their own space to explore and learn new things. A classroom rug provides the opportunity for students to sit in a cozy spot to complete work, participate in class discussions, work in small groups, and enjoy a quiet spot to read. Learning takes place when students can feel comfortable in their environment. Providing a space where students can sit other than a chair will encourage them to work together on group projects where they are able to collaborate easily. The rug will also allow students to join in small group or whole group instruction with the teacher. During independent time, students can complete their work or enjoy a good book in their own space on the carpet.
