Having these materials will just be the beginning for my students. These will be used as rewards and materials for my math classes. I work in a Title I school where many of my students don't have pencils, paper, or adequate supplies on a daily basis. I do many hands-on activities with my students and when they do well I like to reward them for a job well done. After this first project, I'd like to do a lot more and get more creative.
My students are very competitive with one another and the buzzers will add to their competitive drive when we play our math games. I really can't wait to see the look on their faces when they see the tools they get to use to play our games and the prizes they may get to win. Math can be a subject that's not fun for many kids and I try my best every day to make it as engaging as possible.
With the help of donors, I hope to use the materials I've requested to further improve the learning experience of the students I teach. High school math is hard enough to endure and its even harder when you don't have the materials you need to succeed. This project would immensely improve my students' experience in math and possibly change their lives in general.
