Over the years, I have discovered that my students work and learn most effectively when they have options for where and how to sit. Few students choose the traditional desk and chairs to work. I have recently purchased scoop chairs and I love to see my students rock in them while writing in their notebooks. As I have implemented more choice of seating, I have noticed an increase in the amount of work completed and the quality of work produced. My students are full of energy and this is obvious when watching them learn. During any given time, my students can be seen sitting at a table, rocking in a scoop chair, laying on the floor, or standing at a table. Through this project, I hope to give my students more options. They can use the stools anywhere in the room. The wiggle seats can be used on the floor or on a chair. The fidget bands will help when students need to sit in their seats by allowing them to still move.
