My students work hard on vocabulary circle maps; I wish they had a way to display their work in a portfolio type manner. I am happily employed in an area where many of my students do not have the opportunity to buy a folder. I teach eighth grade English in a small town in Louisiana. It was a haven for many affected by Hurricane Katrina. My students learn relevant information such as spelling, definitions, context clues, synonyms, and make up their own individual sentences plus illustrations with their vocabulary circle maps; the vocabulary words are chosen based upon the comprehensive curriculum.
